If he is, and somebody signs him before draft prospects are released, then yes you will.

ok thx. i am assuming he would be a type B. was just wondering since i am going to put him on revokable waivers. gives me a little ammo. if someone wants him.

Here's what I see:

You wanted someone to look into their crystal ball and tell you if he'll be a comp pick player in your world.
tec implied "That's a dumb question".
You recognized that it is and try to recover.
tec still won't answer the dumb question.
I comment on the silliness of this thread.
I explain it to anyone who doesn't see what's going on.

You still have to "sell" him to anyone who might claim him.  My guess is he clears waivers and it's a moot point.  There's nothing about him that says "I gotta get this guy!"     If he's a Type A, no one would ever sign him.   If he's a Type B, he better be cheap. 

Even though I thought it was a dumb question, I didn't try to imply that it was with my answer.  I just answered the question that was asked.  Both times.

I wasn't even going to attempt to predict Type A vs. Type B vs. neither because, depending on the world, your milage may vary.  Depends on the level and distribution of talent in the world.

I interpreted the original question as "If a player leaves as a FA because he was arbed three times, can I get compensation if he is signed?"  I gave a factually correct partial answer.
