to add on, what are the different levels in the scouting reports?

High-High  (i.e. "really improve")
High-Low  (i.e. "some improvement")
Average?  (i.e. "very little improvement")

A follow-up on this subject that I've always meant to ask but never have.

When you get the statement that a kid is below average/average/above average in the classroom, am I correct to assume this relates to the amount of work ethic he will gain over the course of his career? I never see WE listed in these lists of scouting messages, but I can't imagine what else that statement would relate to since there are occasions you'll have a kid pulling a 3.6 GPA in high school and be told he's below average in the class room or get the above-average 2.5 GPA.

I have never found this to be true...  I haven't seen much evidence that anything other than PT has any significant impact on the rate of WE growth...  Those messages about "being an average guy with respect to playing time" or "being benched in the 4th quarter" seem to give some indication of what the probability is that their WE might drop and by how much if they get less PT than they think they should in any given year, but growth seems much less tied to personality.

Any thoughts on the final line by the coach like:  he'll be a "DII all-american when it done, maybe a decent DI player" vs. "he'll be a decent DII player but i can't see any of the big boys going after him"

Does the summary line indicate the first player would be better??  I just hate to keep putting in big bucks to for scouting reports so I can see more of what this international player has in other areas (and sometimes getting screwed by getting repeat eval info).  Obviously when FSS is used we can better assess the players but in this case it costs a lot to keep scouting those not covered by FSS.

basically, does that final line mean anything to trust when making a decision like this?
