Playoff seeding Topic

Waited until this didn't look like sour grapes.

Current playoff seeding set up has the #1 seed with no chance of playing the lowest seed (#6) unless they happen to meet in the league final.

As there is no MLB precident in this case to say "nope, can't do that", playoffs should be;

First round; as is

Divisional - #1 vs lowest ranked team surviving 1st round, #2 vs highest ranked team surviving 1st round

And on as usual

There actually is a precedent.   Every sport has a bracket.   You're saying "Abolish the bracket!"

Denied.

Why do you deny a team that earned it's #1 seed the right to play the weakest team?

Why do you hate democracy?

COMMUNIST!

Like say....baseball does. Or hockey. or basketball. Ie...not every sport.

There isn't an MLB precedent, but what death is proposing is exactly what the NFL does with their 12 team playoff.  And the NHL re-adjusts the matchups by seed in the 2nd round as well.   Only in basketball (amongst the other main pro sports) is the bracket completely set after the initial seeding.   I don't particularly care, but I can definitely see the argument for it.
