My UNCP team is absolutely terrible, so I haven't been doing much day to day managing of it. I set up the depth chart, practice plans, distro, and haven't touched it since the first exhibition. I just realized that right before the regular season, my starting PG had a serious injury and has not played.

Does this explain why he has dropped a point in BH, P, and FW despite having a minimum of 15 practice minutes in each respective category? I understand that he isn't playing or practicing, it just seems like an extra unnecessary slap in the face that a PG that I'm trying to develop for future seasons is losing points in key categories over a sim injury.

If he's injured, his skills will go down. Even a RL injured player can't practice full speed and his skills will deteriorate.  They'll go back up once he's healthy.  Setting him 'at rest' won't improve him any faster, either

It looks like he played 1 minute.  That is terrible.  The best thing that you could have done would have been to apply a redshirt before he ever played.

One of the FAQs notes that a medical hardship exemption may be available in a later release.  I assume that has never been added at this point.

I believe, on rare occasions, medical hardships have been granted.  It's a bonus if you get it but you can't request it.

once his health rating gets above 60 he'll start to improve again.

Negative.   He will continue to lose points, just at a slower rate because he is only getting 60% of his practice minutes.   The rating drops stop at around 70-75 depending on WE.

when do Medical Hardships pop up if you're lucky enough to get them for a serious injury on a player?  At the end of the season?

I *think* you'll get an off-season e-mail a year's end from the AD saying the WCAA approved (Player) for a medical hardship. It has to be a pretty major injury and come early in the season though...I think I heard/read somewhere once that after a player has played in 7 games, you can't get the hardship regardless of injury severity.

I've never had a player continue to lose points if his health is above 60.
Actually most of them not only stop dropping points before they reach 70, they start gaining points.

And the health rating of 60% meaning he gets 60% of his practice minutes is merely a forum fact.   Seble has said as much.  I believe he hinted 60 health was probably getting closer to 80% of the practice, but wouldn't give an exact answer.

ahh, ok - thanks Rednu!

It is not a forum fact. I had it happen to my player at WVAST just last season and the effect on practice time was confirmed by CS.

Chris,

Injured players do not get the full benefit of practice minutes, even if they're healthy enough to practice.

Would he increase the same amount of points if he was set to "rest"?

5/11/2010 9:37 AM mullycj
Can you double check your answer? He's at 71 health and is till losing points.
In all my seasons of HD I've NEVER have this happen to a player with health over 50 before.

It doesn't matter if he's set to Rest or not. It's about his current Health. If below 75 then he won't take part in the full practice, so he may lose points. It's been this way for a very long time.

OK - so 75 is the magic number?

5/11/2010 11:11 AM Customer Support
To get the full effect of practice, yes.
