Redshirting question Topic

Forgive me if this sounds like a dumb question, but I'd like an opinion on this.

Assume you have 2 freshmen that play the same or similar positions, player 1 is better than player 2 in the key categories, but they both have the same amount of potential in the same categories and work ethic is also equal.

Do you redshirt the more talented player or the less talented player?

do you need either player to contribute in their first season? And if you do, will having the better player on the court make a difference in NT vs PI vs no post season? Generally I'd redshirt the better guy unless you really need him that first season. other coaches may disagree

That makes the most sense to me. If you don't need him and/or you are gearing up for the future this will be your stud going forward.
