Recruiting against a sim.  The last message I got, at 2PM of day 2, is "Coach, you're my number 1 choice!  If I could sign right now I would!  Stupid WCAA and their rules."

Next time I hear from him, is "Too late..."

Maybe I'm stupid, but -- what happened?  Either I A) was never ahead, or B) got passed by the sim without ever getting a scholarship email saying such.  Neither of these sound right to me.

this needs a ticket and a response asap

recruiting seems like it has changed- and staff will not admit there are changes and problems

I don't think it's "changed" so much as when they rewrote the code, there are a couple gaps/glitches in this particular area. (Obviously I agree it needs to be addressed and fixed ASAP, not saying I don't believe there to be any sort of purposeful change.)

Absolutely put in a ticket and let us know what they say

There have definitely been some unusual recruiting bugs recently.  This is definitely one of them.  Please let us know what CS says.

CS's response:

"Thanks for the note. When a recruit is considering you among others, this means that you are one of perhaps several schools that he is looking to attend. While other schools are on the considering list, you cannot assume that you will sign the player. You may be leading in the recruiting battle, but that can change at any point. What likely happened in your situation is that you never did enough to make the recruit commit to you and therefore allowed the sim school to stick around. Since this school was still being considered, they would have continued to actively recruit the player. Your activity with these players then likely tailed off and the sim team was able to convince the player to sign with them. In the future, if you go after the recruits a little harder and get the players to drop the sim teams from their considering lists, the sim teams will stop actively recruiting them and your path to signed recruits will be much easier."

This means
A) Sims continue to actively recruit throughout the cycles before signings,
B) a scholarship email saying you are a recruit's #1 choice does not necessarily mean you are leading -- or, if it does, then you may never get an email announcing you have lost the lead before a recruit just goes and signs with a different team, or
C) this guy doesn't know what he's talking about

the problem is that was probably seble's response. the simple reality today is that not one single person who works for CS has a ******* clue how this game works.

here's the deal- it has changed  (whether intentional or not) we have failed to be updated on changes to the game.

-1 to WIS for this. It's never been this way, and this "change" was never noted.  Poor customer service, and this needs to be addressed immediately.

Yeah, that is pretty dumb.  That person clearly doesn't know how recruiting works with sims.

Absolutely agreed --C.

Jeff, I hope you follow up and continue to push back.

I'm very interested to see what the follow up response is.

"C"

What a fking joke when the players are more knowledegable than the "experts".
7/31/2011 9:04 PM
I can copy and paste too.  I can read the FAQ all by myself.  In Iba, I noticed that by 6 pm on the first day of recruiting, SIMAI already had some players considering those players.  I thought that was odd.
