2-Year Regressive (FILLED) Topic

We need one owner for the upcoming 4th season of the Omega Regressive League. We began with the 2009/2010 seasons and are currently beginning the playoffs for season 3 (2005/06 seasons). The team you are replacing finished in second place in its division and has the following roster. You would have the 12th pick in the draft and there are a good 20-25 players who retired in 2003-04 that become available for the first time. You can keep any players that have a 2003/04 season and cut any you choose as well. If the player has no more seasons prior to 2005, the player is deemed "retired" and must be replaced in the draft. There is no salary cap.

Any player that is on the current roster (2005/06) that also played in either 2003 or 2004 is eligible to be kept. No limits on keepers! It is a standard regressive, two years at a time instead of one.

The team actually is set up rather nice for success in the next few years with the Big Unit, Jamie Moyer on the pitching staff and John Olerud, Craig Biggio, Omar Vizquel and Gary Sheffield among others. If you have any questions let me know!

We have about 30 games left in season 3. The team needed taken over is currently 70-62 and tied for first place! They would have around the 11th pick in the draft as of right now. Again, very competitive team that is set up for future success!

This is a first-place team! Very competitive league and a team that looks to be very competitive for the upcoming 2003/04 season and beyond! Mail me if you need any more info!

I cannot believe this team is still out there for the taking. I did a detailed look at this coming season (2003/04 years) and this team is stacked.

C - Miller had a great year, might need to draft a backup
1B - Gonzalez gets retired, but Olerud will be good for another 6 or 7 seasons in this league going back to his rookie years
2B - Biggio! Need I say more, Hudson is a good backup for next season too and a bat off the bench
SS - Vizquel has several good years still going backward
3B - Chavez has his best year in either 2003 or 2004, not sure which, and Ensberg was decent too. Possible trade bait to get better at another position
OF - This OF is sick. Hidalgo, Andruw Jones, Geoff Jenkins and Sheffield were all starters. Hidalgo was at $6.5 million, Sheffield had a monstrous year in 2004, and Andruw Jones was around $6.5 million too. Jenkins was a .300 hitter plus and a starter.

SP - Randy Johnson's best season will be coming up in 2003/04 with a $10 mil plus. Jamie Moyer was only 40 at the time so he has another 8 or 9 seasons in this league. Jason Schmidt had his two best years with the Giants in 2003 and 2004. Jeff Weaver is a good No. 4 starter in this league. Burnett could be used as a reliever with his IP in the 100-120 range. Benoit and Riske are decent in the pen. Both Al Reyes and Russ Springer could be IR'd for this coming season since neither pitched in 2003-04 but have good seasons going back. Two extra draft choices then and I would say the bullpen is the only place that this team could use any sort of an upgrade. I WANT THIS TEAM!

Seriously, we are looking to draft soon so please jump on board. This is a great league and a great bunch of owners!

What pick did they end up with? Also is there a list of available players for this upcoming draft? Thanks

sooners,

I replied to your sitemail with all of the information you requested - list of players available, projected pick, league salary information. Let me know if there's anything else I can supply you with!

Thanks for the interest

This team is still open. Can't say it enough. This is one of the better teams in the league and will be for the foreseeable future. The owner leaving just didn't have the time for WIS in general anymore.

I'll take them.  Would I be allowed to change stadiums though?

Fantastic, they are yours, and yes, you can change the stadium as long as it was in use during the seasons 2003-04
