Has anyone kept track of player splits to know if they are consistent?

For example, through 137 games, Lefty-hitting '29 B. Ruth's BA/OBP/SLG is .369/.479/.664 against RHP vs .196/.274/.482 against LHP.

Conversely, in the same season, Lefty-hitting '99 B. Freeman's BA/OBP/SLG is .298/.316/.512 vs RHP and .327/.377/.776 vs LHP.

If anybody is currently running either of these guys, could you post splits for comparison?

Admin has written repeatedly that a flat 5% split is applied for all batters (except switch hitters).

Thanks Zub, but I'm not sure what that means.

What I am asking is if Lefty 99 Buck Freemen always hits LHP slightly better than RHP and if Lefty 29 Ruth always hits RHP drastically better than LHP.

zub is saying, "no" to your question. babe ruth should hit about 10% better against RHP and buck freeman should also hit about 10% better against RHP (same for ALL lefties, and the opposite for ALL righties).

Thanks footballmn11.   I think the number is 5%, but yes, all things being equal, on average, leftings perform better against righties and vise versa.

I could be wrong, but irrespective of that 5% rule, I still believe there are certain lefty hitters, e.g., Ruth who always hit a lot worse against lefty pitchers.

I believe , but to my knowledge admin has not explictedly stated so, that there are either (1) additional splits for dertermining the type of hit or the hit split is done such a way that reduces the chance of an xbh.  So if you mean slugging is penalized more than average alone, I think the evidence supports this.
