Sure he has good value, will get on base a lot, has good speed and baserunning ability - find power at another position - you don't have to be confined to the conventional wisdom of power at the corners.

He is a stud, although at a position you would like to find some power out of.  Would be a super stud DH.

it was more about his power being 0, will that produce anything more than infield hits vs ML pitchers.

He'll still hit some doubles and triples.  It used to be that guys with 0 power never homered, but they've changed that a bit.

I don't think he's a stud at all.  He's a useful piece, and a decent starting RF, especially if your team runs a lot.  But his OBP is "only" going to be about .380, and his SLG will be less than that, and if you don't have team stealing set to "5" he's "only" going to steal about 25 bases in 30-35 attempts.  Plus all the errors in RF... I'd evaluate him carefully when he gets to his second arb season.

I'm with dedelman.  He's certainly no stud.  He's somewhat useful.  He's a crappy fielding LF/RF (real crappy...because all those errors he makes will be two base errors) or a weird 1b.  Actually...I don't think you can give up the power and play him at 1b UNLESS you have plenty of big bonkers.  I think he's a .300-.380-.320 kind of guy.  .700 OPS is only useful considering his OPB.  But given he fact that he can't field well...he's only somewhat useful. He'll steal a few bases, though.  If you have lots of power or are playing in a huge park and are building around speed then you would use him at 1B.

Remember the MLB guy Otis Nixon?  Your guy is like that...except Nixon had a glove. Nixon played for a bunch of teams in the 90's.  Juan Pierre is a bit like that today....except he has a glove, too.  Were your guy an 83-83 CF or a 70-70 LF then he would be pretty nice.

I would find a way to get him AB's. He will be around a .300 hitter, good speed. He isnt a traditional 1B but he will give you some value.

Not bad for the 49th pick in the draft!  I disagree with some here...I think he's more than a "useful piece".

I'd put him LF leading off.  He's gonna get on base 40% of the time, and even if they're singles, a stolen base turns that into a double.  30-40 SB shouldn't be a stretch.

These threads kill me.   First, the average OBP in most worlds falls somewhere between .330 and .340.   A player that reaches base 37-39% of the time is valuable.  Even on a basestealing setting of 3, he'll steal 30 and get caught 2-5 times.   So, 25 times, he'll turn a single/walk into a double.   He's also a good baserunner so he'll take the extra base.   His slugging(which might be .350), plus the extra 35-40 bases he'll safely take, would equate to about .420.  Who wouldn't take .300/.370/.420 as a hitting line?   The "bad" part is he sucks in the field.   He'll kick the crap out of balls in the OF.

Hence why I said he is a stud.  Put him at first.  People overvalue power in this game, its great and all but OBP rules all.  I would drool over having this guy on my teams, and all of my teams are very very good.

I am 3rd in OBP and 24th in home runs and 5th in runs scored. I would love to have that guy. I would play him at first no question.

This is the type of guy I look for and trade for and usually come out on top by offering a not quite as good guy (to me) with say, 80+ power.  The other owner accepts and gets his .315 OBP with 30 home runs.....and I get my .385 OBP and another division title.
