I only saw this by chance on a different forum. So here's the one for HD, from Admin...

We have scheduled some routine site and database maintenance for early Wednesday, August 24th.  During this time, the site will be inaccessible.  We expect the maintenance to take approximately 12 hours with the site back up by early Wednesday evening.

As a result of the downtime, all Hoops Dynasty worlds will see their schedules pushed back 2 days.  During this period, world processing will be disabled, so games, recruiting, jobs etc. will not be processed.  Processing will stop on Tuesday, August 23rd, after the 11pm ET cycle and resume on Thursday, August 25th, picking up where it left off with the 2pm ET cycle.  You will be able to access the site until late Tuesday evening.  This will affect all worlds.

We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.

By the description, I wouldn't call it a release.  It says routine maintenence.  We probably won't notice a thing.  Or they are gonna go way off the reservation and screw something up big-time.

so this will hit in the midst of IBA recruiting?  no doubt some world's postseason.....at least it isnt during Festivus, interrupting the Airing of Greivances would be a big issue
Come on metsmax, you don't care enough for your Oregon St. squad in Naismith to know that the some world in the postseason is Naismith!

Sorry, I should have made my sarcasm more clear.

What I really meant to say was: Are you sh**ing me?! They still aren't going to give us any information on any update coming soon?!

Good looking out Stinenavy.

Not that this effects me, but how are they dealing with worlds that will be recruiting?  In the sense that they leave off with an 11 PM cycle and pick up with a 2 PM cycle?

I probably shouldn't worry about it; the way these things usually go it will take until 11 PM the next day to get it back up.

All sites have to do shut down for maintanence from time to time and with HD it will always be during somebody's postseason or recruiting, there is just no way to avoid it. I just wish they would've told us in a better way. Making a post in a random forum that I'm pretty sure most people had no clue existed isn't the smartest thing. They make posts on the CCs all the time, why is this time different?

I guess sites don't go down for 12 hours, but I routinely see sites down for maintenance here and there, I've even seen ESPN down for maintanence. My cable and internet even go down for maintenance about once or twice a year. But it's usually only for maybe 30-45 minutes real late at night. The 12 hours is a little crazy.

this just simply is not true. don't take it personally kmason because you know i like coaching with you. but this mentality that everybody has matinence just ****** me off. its not true and to give them a pass is just BS. i guess i take it personally - i manage our data center of 500+ servers (which is probably 10 to 50 times larger than WIS) and our website is never down - down time is totally unacceptable. i would say our search engine is down approximately 10 minutes per year or less over the past 5 years and its always due to some major incident like a downed T3 line. even natural disasters have failed to bring us down for years (and we have had some). nor data center moves - we moved everything 700 miles and had a grand total of 0 seconds of downtime. simply put, any company who takes their services down like this doesn't care about serving their customers and either a) totally doesn't have their **** together or b) didn't have their **** together when they designed their system architecture. the internet standard has been 24/7 for like 15 years - but i guess you would expect a company as poorly run as WIS to be 20 years behind in their technology...
Completely agree. And the 2-day push back on the schedule is total load of ****. At the max, the site should go down for an hour and the schedule should not be affected at all.

And what do they need to do maintenance on now? It's not like the site has made any changes in the past year.
