How to Release Players And Not Owe Them $$? Topic

I was curious if there was a way to release a player without being responsible for their remaining contract.  I thought maybe if they cleared waivers but I wasn't sure so I wanted to ask before I did anything.  Thanks for any and all help.

If you WAIVE them, and someone else claims them, that's the only time you're off the hook.

If you RELEASE them, and someone picks them up, you're responsible for the full salary minus the major league minimum (prorated for $327K)
