Long story short, the owner lost internet the day of arb and didn't sign this guy to an extension on arb #3 and now he is ******.  What if any is the recourse?

The one plan that has been thrown around is since the guy has 5 years, 20 days to send him to AAA until when he comes back he doesnt recieve another year of service, thus being arb eligible again next season.  Anyone have any ideas if that will work?  Will he still be ****** and not sign a LT deal or will forget about it once he has the chance to sign again?

With over a year of ML service time, he'll still accumulate ML service time on an Optional assigment, so that won't work.

That's wrong.

Check the FA list for your team for this year.  He may still be willing to sign LT. I have arbed many guys who are still willing to sign LT once the season starts. I have 3 on my team right now. I wait until the end of the year just to make sure they don't incur a devastating injury and then sign them just as the season ends.

Dead wrong.  Sending him to AAA for the season will work, he will arb again next season (at which point you can sign him long term).  But the first and best optino is, as stated, to see if he will sign a long term deal right now.  Arbing a guy 3 times does not automatically mean he will not sign long term.  In fact, if the guy won the arb hearing, it wont have any negative impact at all (though he may still choose free agency due to his overall rating).

he wasnt mine to begin with, I traded for him trying to help the owner out (sometimes they will sign extensions with other teams), didn't work though.
