A D1 team with C prestige, what's the advantage here against a D2 A+ in potential battles?

Not in D1, but based on LM's estimations of D1 prestige probably close to 100%.

D2 has NO CHANCE if D1c spends even a minimal amount.

So if I send 2 CV, D2 has no chance?

I don't think that's a fair assessment.  Based on roughly a 2x multiplier, 2 CV from you is equivalent to 4 CV (or ~10 HV) from them.  Given the total cash advantage you have it shouldn't end up being costly to stave off an A+ D2, but 2 CV might not do it...

That said, in this scenario I assume you are the D2 A+.  I wouldn't try it against a C, either human or sim-coached, unless maybe it's a human-coached schools with more recruits considering them than openings and the one in question is one of the worst.

It's a hypothetical scenario in which I'm the C prestige D1 team. I'm pretty sure the multiplier is more than 2x, and probably 3x, if not more? C v. D in D1 is a full letter grade, so that should be 2x already. If we assume D2 A+ < D1 D-, then the multiplier has to be over 2x and closer to 3x. Then throw in the possibility that D1 gets some kind of bonus, the multiplier could be much higher.

This is just guesswork on my part so if anyone can shed some light, it would be appreciated.

...assuming that a full letter grade at D I is worth 100%...

It's a much bigger advantage than that from my experience.

yeah, D2 just doesn't have the D1nero, among other things.

I would recommend against this tactic.  Not enough money to play.  The ONLY way I would ever try this would be close distance and full schollies at D2 (assuming max prestige) and D1 SimAI school with not good prestige (D+/C- or worse) and only 1 opening.

I disagree with the "1 opening" part.  I actually think it's easier when they have more openings.  The only way it can be done is when the recruit isn't a top priority.  Usually that happens only when the sim is recruiting more than one person.

Again, going with the LM estimate that a full letter grade is a 70% advantage.  Then from a C to a D- is a bit over 90%.  There used to be a glitch where D- D1 and A+ D2 prestige would actually wrap around in extreme cases so that an elite D2 program might show up as having D- prestige, so the distance from one to the other isn't THAT huge.  That doesn't mean this is right, but it's not coming from nowhere and is based on some pretty good information I think...

Ok, can some D1 coach give a definite answer on this? I have seen on some conf chat that D1 coach with above a D prestige can pretty much push around D2 teams (essentially, any real recruiting effort, the D1 team will win). Is this true?

I think the advantage may vary by grade.  If so, the full letter grade for a D1-A vs a DI-B has a larger gap advantage than a D1-C vs a D1-D

I'd guess a D1-C is probably well over a 2x advantage vs a D2 A+.  However not sure it is as much as 3x

Another question about d1, if a recruit has no stars, can I safely recruit him straight up or do I still need to wait a cycle by making a phone call to test the waters?
