I was fired 4 or so seasons ago from a job in a Big 6 conference.  Since then I've applied for other Div 1 jobs and have been turned down for all of them.  Most jobs say keep looking and simmy even warns me about the loyalty hit I would take and I probably wouldn't get it anyway.

Is there a way I can coach in Div 1 again or should I just go back to Div 2?

haven't been in your situation so i'm not sure...but when you say you've "applied for other D1 jobs" are you talking about other Big 6 jobs or are you talking about D, D- prestige jobs at mid and low major schools?

I've applied to both Big 6 jobs as well as jobs in the Metro, MWC, CAA, A10.

I was under the impression that in your situation you could get other D1 jobs but it would probably be at the bottom of the D1 ladder.  If you're applying for D or D- prestige jobs and getting turned down then you may well have to drop down to D2 which in the long run might be a better bet anyway

I got turned down for two DIV 2 jobs.  Maybe they just don't want me back playing the game.  Spotless reputation and coached four teams in 37 seasons so my loyalty should be great as well.  Oh well.

join up once the world opens it will show you every single team available to your from D1-D3.

What does your resume look like? I would be interested to look at that and see what we feel you should be qualified for.

I've earned 3 firings. D2 is the highest I've had available to me.

Also I have a spotless reputation.  Coached 7 seasons at Louisville (2 PI). 14 seasons at Rider (3 natl tournament, 1 PI). 9 seasons at Felician (3 natl tournament, 2 PI).  5 Seasons at Kean (1 natl tournament, 3 PI).

I struggled at Louisville. Couldn't recruit well enough to compete in Big East and the good recruits in my region were often gobbled up by Kentucky, Michigan, Illinois.

Details that also matter from your resume:

12-15, RPI 149

15-14, PIT 1st rd, RPI 74

I know that seasons like that at DI haven't allowed me to apply for much more than the D/D- schools in the past, and I'm sure the firing makes it that much worse.

What's weird is that simmy tells me I shouldn't apply for jobs because it would hurt my loyalty and I might not get it anyway. Jobs (Div 1) that it says I have a shot at I don't get. I applied for two (Div 2) jobs and I was turned down for those as well.  I don't dispute I didn't turn Louisville around.  I tried and failed. But I can't coach again?

Can't you just grab a team during the open sign-up process?

I think I could pick up a DIV 2 or DIV 3 during open sign up.  I was hoping to do better, even a B prestige DIV 2.  Of course Simmy tells me I shouldn't  apply to any Div 2 or 3 jobs.
