Does an injured player that is on "Rest" practice? Topic

I've got a freshman that I had to give 10 minutes of PT to when recruiting in order to get him to sign. He got injured, which was cool with me because I put him on rest, since I really don't need him anyway. But he's back to 96% health now. Does anyone know if he practices when he is on rest and injured? If not, I'd be tempted to bring him back before the next game, since my next game is against a team I should be able to beat anyway. We are 9-0 and ranked #2, so I am trying to win big in all of my games to get to the #1 ranking.

I think they must practice, because he was improving while he was on rest, though not as much as if he had been playing.

Here is a bug for you.

If he is averaging more than 10 minutes right now ... you can put him on mopup and take him off your depth chart all together.

He does not have to play every day, just average more than 10 minutes in the games he does play.

So, if you take away the check marks on the "Team Game Plan Page" for playing backups and take him off your depth chart AND assign him to mopup then he should be happy as long as he is above 10 minutes per game right now for his average time.

Hmm - Thanks for the advice. I may  try that when I get to the CT and NT. That would probably work for a guaranteed start too?

it does work for guaranteed start (has to start ~90% of games played, but if doesn't play doesn't seem to recognize that as a non-start) but once you get to the CT promises become null and void anyway...

So you are saying you could promise a start and minutes to someone, start them in the first game, take them off of the depth chart, and they will be happy? Does that work with a sophomore whining about minutes too?

and the sit and they won't complain doesn't work all the time.
I sat a Juco soph for the first 8 games and then got the email that 0 minutes weren't enough.  He actually wanted the 15 minutes he had been promised during recruiting.

The only drawback to this would be that they won't develop nearly as fast, and if they were good enough to promise a start to, you probably don't want to waste a year of eligibility.
