This is just a backbreaker all-around. It took seven seasons to get my bottom of the barrel team into the NT, manage to pull a favorable matchup in the NT, which results in an OT win, and I shockingly lose one of my best players to EE. I can understand if he's sitting in the high 800s or 900s, or if he was putting up 20+ points a game, but this wasn't the case. Of that 809 a huge chunk of that was in WE, STAM, and DUR. I'm not understanding why such a low caliber guy got taken.

Other info:

Started out as a no star, #173 overall, #34 SF.
Only award was a 1st team All-Conference.
Evaluation report has this, "Overall, I think he's got a very bright Division I future ahead. Outside shot of playing in the NBA when he graduates."

I agree that it's ridiculous.  Of course, you'll hear "mediocre players try for the NBA every year."   Still, this is one instance where WIS shouldn't mimic real life.

Early entry is one of the reasons I've never applied for a DI school

I hear the scouts are all raving about his ability to not get injured...

I lost this 783 ovr from my Wyoming team.

At least I made the Final Four.

Charles Fleming from Denver also got drafted... Denver did make it to PI second round.

Stats have very little to do with whether or not they get drafted.  It's all about ratings combined with team success.  (Sorry if his ratings suck too...can't view the 2nd post for some reason)

No excuse for Charles Fleming to get drafted though.. I get the fact I made it to the Final Four.  Denver was a PI second round team.  Fleming was a 795 OVR... not NBA material.

Fleming and the first guy are TERRIBLE EEs, especially when I had a guy at NCSU come back at 1045 OVR after making the E8 a few seasons ago...

Do they give you an email letting you know they are thinking about it ahead of time? Now I'm worried I'll lose someone at vmi

I get guys going early with mediocre ratings and cruddy stats whilst 940 rated juniors stay on other teams all the time.  We're talking guys with fewer than 300 career points.  Hell, Army - seriously, the US Military Academy - had a modestly successful player go early in Allen last season.

The worst part of early entries like these ones is that at least one senior with substantially better ratings and stats is going to get undrafted (and thus hurt someone else's prestige every so slightly) because of it.

Army's guy had an overall 732 rating.  Good enough to be a star in the mostly sim filled Patriot League but seriously...

But hey, Clemson after winning the NT and then advancing to the championship game in back-to-back years had two guys with 940+ ratings stick around for their senior seasons.  Clearly, they were graduates of like Choate for high school or something.

Denver and Army better get a whole letter bump for the draft to compensate how stupid those EEs are

Renard is an EE player, sorry I don't feel too bad for that as long as you didn't lose multiple players.

Fleming is a guy I would not be surprised to leave from a power 6 school (I realize that isn't the case here) I have had many players just like that leave in the past, so that doesn't surprise me.
