What can I expect defensively playing an A/A Shortstop at first base?  He is not rated at first base.

This is for a theme obviously or else it would be a waste of $$$.

does this work only for SS or for all players with high defensive ratings when playing them at 1b?

like Tj said, although I came up with B/B, not that it matters much.  He'll do fine...

The harder their position, the less the defensive adjustment will be, so yes. A good 2B/3B would also be fine at 1B. Though honestly, so would a crappy one :)

I'm rapidly reaching the conclusion it doesn't matter who you play @ 1B as long as it is not a DH

In my progressive league I am forced to play DH 95 Chili Davis at 1b most of the season, will this work?

I played Jack Clark at 1B in that same prog in 1991 (Clark had no def. ratings).  The result: 144 games, 30 errors, 11 minus plays.  Considering he was 2nd on my team that season in Runs Created, I figure it was worth it.

Thanks, Chili is decent at the plate so I hope he does well but 30 errors is alot.

I mostly play progressives these days and have played alot of "others" at 1b.
But a DH (no ratings at ANY positions) at 1b also affects the performances of the other 3 inf's.

Even a D-D- does much better then a DH.

I ran a prog team w/ a DH at 1b and an inf of B/B or better at the other 3 positions. I recall that all 3 infielders performed well below expectations defensively.

Playing Chili at 1b will have both good and bad results, but if you send in a good D replacement after the 7th, you'll avoid the late inning ss w/ the A/A rating making a throwing error...

thanks so much for the info, I will try the defensive replacement.  By the way can you set a specific players rest at a certain inning?
