Round 2 - 120M Theme One Hall of Famers Topic

League Name: One Hall of Famer
Salary Cap: $120 Million

Description: This theme is similar to jfranco77’s “Favorite Player” theme. The concept of this theme is that each owner will select one “community” player. This player cannot be in the Baseball Hall of Fame There are some other requirements on the community player that are described below. In building your roster, you will then choose any season of each of these 24 players. Your 25th player must be a Hall of Famer. Also, you must use the ballpark of the HOFer you chose (and the appropriate season).

Community Player Requirements:
The community player must have at least 5 WIS-eligible seasons.
The community player must have at least one season with a salary under $1 million
The community player (hitter) must have at least two seasons with a salary over $4 million
The community player (starting pitcher) must have at least two seasons with a salary over $6 million
The community player (relief pitcher) must have at least two seasons with a salary over $2.5 million

The idea is to choose players with multiple usable seasons. If you choose a player with no good expensive season, then all 24 owners will take his cheap season and you’ve added nothing to this theme.

In order to make sure we have all the positions covered, we will slot players into the following positions.

In the case of players who have eligible seasons as a hitter and a pitcher, do we have to name them as one or the other?
10/11/2011 3:20 PM
For players who are hitters and pitchers, you can choose which to use... but he must completely fulfill the appropriate eligibility requirements (as a hitter or as a pitcher).

So would it be okay to nominate a player who is primarily a SS whose only sub-$1m season is as a pitcher?
10/11/2011 3:35 PM
No, he has to be completely eligible as a hitter, which means he has to have a sub $1M as a hitter.
