We have ONE opening for an American League Expansion team for the 1962 season.....
The Post War League has progressed from 1946 to 1961 and is adding 4 expansion teams for the 1962 season.  Three team have already been claimed....

The league current has 12 members, by expanding to 16 we will have 4 teams in the post season....

Available are....

American League:
Washington Senators
Boston Red Sox
Detroit Tigers

Rosters will be created by first drafting 12 players from the existing teams in the league.....and then the last 13 players will come in the 1962 rookie draft.  We also carry 4 AAA players drafted after the regular draft has finished.

EXPANSION DRAFT:  Each existing franchise in the Post War League will be able to protect 12 players on their roster.  This is slightly more than a 25 player roster, the list also includes any players on the DL/IR for the 1962 season as well as their 4 AAA players.
Then the 4 expansion teams will draft a total of 12 UNPROTECTED  players from these rosters.  All existing franchises will lose 4 players each.  Once a team has lost its 4th player, all unprotected players on that roster are now protected for the rest of the draft.  All rounds of the draft will snake, going 1-4 then 4-1 for each of the 12 rounds.

ROOKIE DRAFT:  After the extisting 12 teams make their final cuts the league will do its regular rookie draft of all rookies, free agents and cut players....The 4 Expansion teams will draft in the 1 thru 4 positions......the expansion teams only will draft in snake order 1-4 then 4-1, alternating in each round.  The 12 existing teams will draft 5-16 based on worst record and NOT snake as usual.

The expansion team that drafts first in the Expansion Draft will draft 4th in the Rookie Draft, the same inverse order will apply to all draft slots.....

1st in the Expansion Draft
4th in the Rookie Draft

It seems like a long, long, long road for any expansion team to become competitive.
The top 144 players in the league will belong to the existing teams and the expansion teams will then have the next 48, which means my best player is the 145th best player in the league.

I agree with the previous post. With this setup, the expansion owners will be choosing from a bunch of scrubs and will probably be in the gutter for many seasons to come. I am in a league which expanded from 1968-1969 and existing teams were only permitted to protect five players. This worked out pretty good in the first season of expansion, with one expansion team winning the division and the rest being respectable, with none of them losing 100 games. With this setup, you're probably looking at 100+ losses for multiple consecutive seasons for all the expansion teams.

I also agree with the above posts.....The expansion draft just gives you a base for your team, your real building will be through the rookie/free agent draft.

do you have a list of players that will be unprotected?  

Keepers are due at game 120....we are now at game 108 with 7 of the 12 keepers lists in.......
