Late season call-up question Topic

Say you have a player who is on the 40 man roster at AAA with 0 options left and he clears reversible waivers late in the season. If you call him up to the ML to help with a late season run, can you send him back down to AAA at the end of the season? In other words, does the late season waiver clear last until the season is done?

Yes

Are you sure? I thought waiver status reset if you promoted a player to the majors. Hmmmm.

I waived this guy when he was in AAA on 10/4.  He cleared waivers on the AM cyc;le on 10/6.  Promoted a couple of hours later to the ML roster.  He shows as "Cleared"

It's an easy check.   What's his status?   If it's not "cleared", do it again.

OK, here's what happened. I promoted a guy who was on the 40 at AAA. He had cleared waivers and had 0 options left. I tried to see if I could demote him to AAA, but it said he would have to clear waivers again. So, apparently promoting him negates his previous waiver status.

I'm having a lot of trouble with your sequence of events.   While this guy has options, he was promoted after he cleared waivers and stil shows "cleared".

World, team, player please?

In my experience, after the transaction deadline, adding a plyer to the big league roster wil reset his waiver status

Yep, I found another with no options.    WW status was reset to "none".

If you have no options, you will have to clear waivers after each call up.  I have one pitcher with very low durability and I demote him after every start (no one picks him up because he will be at 10(15) or less during the waiver cycle.  http://www.whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=344522

That is true and that's what happened. Question answered. Thanks.
