To paraphrase the announcement:

You know that last announcement a month and a half ago we had where we were going to an update? Well just wait a few more months and we'll update the game, we promise........... uhhhhhhhhhhhh..... yeah

What does this mean?
"Create a page to track postseason resumes during the season."

Like, what the selection committee would look at?  Don't we already get that with the info on our standings page? ie: RPI, SOS, Last 10 games, rank...?
10/17/2011 5:30 PM
Hey, we all know that they've given us the shaft to some extend. There's no reason to complain any further now. Instead, let's focus on helping them make the game better. Hopefully they will take our input into consideration and the result will be a very positive change in the direction of HD's future.

Yeah, I think this is just going to be some sort of Bracketology.  Hopefully they won't spend too much time on it.

Agreed, it's more important that they improve seeding logic rather than something that's more aesthetic like this. But this does involve some strategy. Let's say you're an eight seed and are dreading a second round matchup with the no.1 seed. It wouldn't be far fetched for someone to drop a game if they have their eyes set on making a sweet 16 run rather than a round 2 exit. P.S. Not suggesting that I would do so, but I've seen crazier plans put into motion.

I personally wish they would look at the prestige system finally. Between the system and the recruit generation, many worlds are becoming irreversably segmented (thanks in no small part to the overweighted baselines of the ACC).

Actually, I think that would be incredibly far-fetched. You really have no idea how the ultimate bracket is going to shake out, in a million different ways. I mean, I've seen more regions than I could remember where the 2 seed was tougher than the 1. Or how about just simply winning another game or two to improve your seed rather than losing on purpose? (And hey, if you try to win and lose anyway, mission accomplished, right?) I don't see what you're suggesting ever being viable.

I see your point and that's exactly why I'd never consider this, but I've seen some coaches purposely blow CT games to try and sneak an extra team into the NT for the extra $. If there were some sort of bracketology, the coach considering this option would have a better idea of if it were safe for him to try such a method. I should have mentioned that originally.

why would a coach try this? winning your CT gives you the best chance for success- a better seed to go deep in the tournament.
10/17/2011 7:32 PM
more recruiting $
10/17/2011 7:45 PM
Again, I wouldn't. . but the theory is to give the conference more recruiting money by getting another team into the NT>

10/17/2011 7:46 PM
it is also against the rules according to WiS...

I dislike the following:

2.  Determine a better method of showing a player's ratings potential beyond the current "Player Thoughts" inbox message.
4.  Look into the draft early entry process to make it more fair and more predictable
6.  Adjust GPA logic to place more weight on study hall minutes and reduce randomness

We need more variance, not less.  In real life, from a coach's perspective, random chance has a huge effect on all of these things.  Why eliminate it?  It's fun.  I wish they'd bring back injuries too.

Oh, and put more variance into walk-on quality (that is, make some of them playable)
