Mutual Option and Type A/B FA Topic

If you have a player w/ a mutual option and you exersize it, but the player chooses to opt out, do you still get comp picks for him if he would qualify as a Type A or B?

If the player declines, you get the picks.  If you decline, you do not.

Yes, you will get compensation.  From the FAQ:  "You will also receive a compensation pick if the player declines his side of a mutual option."

Also, your player will either accept or decline the option at the beginning of the season, before you have a chance to act on it; so the scenario you describe will not happen because if you have to decide on a mutual option then your player has already accepted.

When can one sign a Type A pick without giving up a pick: after the amateur draft prospects have been released or after the amateur draft?
