So why is he still on my roster? Topic

The WCAA issued their official findings in a press release this morning. They uncovered 2 recruiting violations. I spoke with the committee - Oklahoma State University is officially now on 1 year probation. Don't slip up again, it's not good for the schools' reputation or for yours.

I almost forgot the best part, not only are we on probation, but we also got hit with:

Clinton Francis has been declared permanently ineligible to play by the WCAA

Dr. Eddie Lewis
President
Oklahoma State University

Here's Francis - I can put him on my depth chart and everything.

Why in God's name would you ever post this?

Ha I agree, why would you not keep this to yourself and let him play? You just self reported to WIS and I am sure they will be correcting this.

because he has integrity

...Integrity? HA!  I'm wondering if I'll forfeit any future games in which he plays, dudes.

Going to take this thread in a different direction. There is a guy you played in my Conference. Vermont, and since all your games were wipped out and your record is now 0-10 his RPI and SOS took a major hit. From37/18 to 62/84.

That sucks, why does WIS punish the teams you played against just because you cheated. They did not cheat but they are paying the price. Not a very logical reprocusion if you ask me. Just make is so that game never existed, but don't punish all the teams OK St. played against.

The player is now gone from Corny's roster
10/20/2011 4:11 PM

There he goes - and I didn't even get a walkon to replace him.

And pajama, it's exactly how it should be.  Vermont (as the former coach of Vermont, they're probably glad to ditch me) and the other teams that played me get their wins - it won't be so bad in the long run, 'cause we went 0-10 but we won't go 0-26.  That RPI will improve.

And if they made the set games not count in the RPI, then OK State a) would hold up new RPIs for seven games and b) would make the NT for sure.  So that doesn't work as a solution.

Corn, that is a cop out answer, and absolutly not the way it should be. you are punishing the teams you played for something they had no control over. Sure they scheduled a game with you and they may never do that again but it is still not right for them to suffer like this.
Sure your record will improve and with it your RPI, but what is the benifit of vacating the games at this point. Your team is already inelligible for postseason play (I guess that is not the case but it would be a better solution) why take away the wins now and hurt everyone else? All vacating the wins now does is hurt the teams you played. Some of the Big 6 teams you might have played might be ok with it but the Mid-majors or lower really suffer, why should they.
Just seems very messed up to me.
10/20/2011 7:09 PM
pajama, for the record, I disagree with you, but, as a practical matter, what do you suggest that corn does about your issue? I doubt he has the ability to un-vacate the wins, so I guess I'd suggest you send a ticket if you have a problem with this.
10/20/2011 7:11 PM
Dacj, he's mad at the situation (and at my argument), not at me.

I'd gladly keep the wins, pajama - I mean, I'm still postseason-eligible, I believe, but even if I wasn't, I'd love the wins for my overall record and my prestige.

But I could definitely get behind a solution of having vacated games not count at all in the RPI - my opps would have the adjusted W/L for, for instance, seeding, but just one fewer game in the RPI calculations.
10/20/2011 8:11 PM
my question is: what happens with the player? does he disappear from the whatif universe???
10/20/2011 9:04 PM
Yes Dacj, I am not mad at Corn just the situation. I feel bad for my conference mate, and for the record I did send in a ticket and they told me that is how the game is currently programed but they will look at it for future updates. I sent a reply back, still waiting to hear.

I guess that there are 2 solutions in this scenario I could see working. One, a slight variation on Corn's idea, and that would be to give corn a record of 0-10 and give all his opponents the W (or even not count the game as a W or L for them,) while not having Corn's record or RPi factor into their RPI or SOS.

The second I dea would be to simply leave Corn's record as is and hit him with a postseason ban and a drop in prestiege.

The player's gone forever.  I mean, he asked for (and took) a ******* car.
