I have been impressed with his performance this season, but am contemplating moving him to a starter next season (maybe even for the playoffs)

Unless you have 2 other ace SP and leave him as SuA, but even then I'd probably start him.  If you have 2 SP as good as him, it probably doesn't matter what you do with him.
