I used this area for an advertisement for joining d3 conference Upstate in Tark World.
But it was too long and silly, so I want to edit it down and get right to the point.
If you are a new player wondering what World to join, I'd say forget the 1-game-per-day Worlds (too slow!) and only consider 2-games-per-day (just right!).
Then you have to consider Knight, Phelan, and Tarkanian, of which Tarkanian is the most established and best.
Of the Tarkanian d3 conferences, ODAC and USA South are filled with good coaches, but maybe you can find an opening at a school there. At the moment, just 1 available at Ferrum in USA South. At Upstate we have a good group of coaches and message board and 2 coaches who won the NT recently.
If you already know the game, I think it is fine to get the best team you can and dominate a conference full of sim-coached teams, but for brand new players, I think you would be well-served to join our conference because we can answer all your questions along the way as you learn the game, while having fun with a good group of coaches. Also, due to the consistent postseason success of so many teams in our conference, you will have extra recruiting money in our conference.
So, the choices of teams available in our conference at the moment:
*St. Lawrence 11-9 record (Canton, NY) fastbreak/man-to-man 2Sr-5Jr-3So-2Fr
*Hobart & William Smith 9-12 record (Geneva, NY) fastbreak/press 0Sr-2Jr-7So-3Fr
*Clarkson 4-17 record (Potsdam, NY) triangle/zone 3Sr-1Jr-3So-5Fr
Next rollover/sign-up date is Nov. 16 or so.
But you can reserve any of these teams in advance today and be ready to join us at the start of the next season!
