Prospects stuck in AAA Topic

I took over a team, season 4 just began, and the old owner has three pitchers, all between 21-22 years old, that project to be decent ML pitchers. Overalls between 68-71. However, they've all been at the AAA level for the past two years (this will be their 3rd season at AAA). Will this stunt their development at all? I usually like to progress my prospects up through the minors, not toss them in AAA after drafting them. Just wondering if others have had experience here.

I plan on getting a stud AAA Pitching Coach

Melo is just a two pitch guy, and one of them is mediocre.  He has a low Make-up, too. Guys like this get lit up  He's a Set-up B guy who will have an ERA in the mid-high 4's.  He only OK.

Hahn is a MLB starter, kind of.  He has real control problems, as you know.  ERA in the high 4's.  He's a #4, #5 type of guy.

Brandt is pretty good.  A #2 guy with a low pitch count but high stamina.

Really you have two complementary guys and one good one.  Another year (or part year) in AAA shouldn't hurt them...with a good pitching coach.

i know 41 control is horrid, but i thought 75/75+ splits and 4 pitches 70+ (according to projections) might make up for it abit

Assuming moe has the right pitchers, they're close to full development now.    Pitch them a lot and they'll develop OK.

Everyone has one where they say "his control should suck, but damn, I've got to try him"

I usually shy away from any pitcher with control under 60 and prefer 80+, but like deathinahole says, sometimes you got to try them.

Don't worry about Melo and Hahn.  Hahn's probably almost done developing, which means he won't run his splits/pitches high enough to justify the 41 control.  Melo is a very marginal major leaguer.

If Brandt doesn't advance his control and splits by a point each at the first "regular season" marker, move him to the majors.  I do think that the 3rd season at a level can stunt development, although I'm not confident of it, and his makeup and patience are nothing special, so if stagnation does happen it might happen to him.
