Single Season Team Twist IV

#98351

Ever pore over a roster in the stat pages of your local team and think to yourself "Wow, if these guys had (player X) from (year X) they would be fantastic!"
Then you see an old team roster here or there
(be it on http://www.baseball-reference.com/ or what have you) and think, "Geez, there's alot of big names on that team!" What if you could twist the entire roster of any team, any year? That is the basic idea of this theme league. Select any team you would like, from any season and twist any player on their roster from that season. For example, say you take the 1992 Los Angeles Dodgers. Imagine this team if you could take any season of any of the studs on this roster: http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/LAD/1992.shtml

RULES:

*NO WW, DH, CLONES.
*YES TRADES.

I'm in either way, team TBD but I'd rather the AAA be random, below average.  I know from chatting with other guys last season that I'm not the only one who feels this way.  It kind of ruins the point of the league when every game seems to be decided by Shawn Wooten and Frank Connaughton.

Used to live near Baltimore in late 60's, thus I'll take the 69 Orioles (got to playoffs with them one time, but got knocked off in 1st round of playoffs by a 1930's NYY"s team) .... Agree with Jesters in having random AAA (6-4?), though I prefer average- not below ... (-;

I agree with Jesters, there are too many teams with the same AAA players drafted.  I'd prefer random below average or doing away with AAA and making owners draft a certain # of IPs and PAs.  Make us more reliant on the season we choose.

I'll try the 1997 M's.

Well personally, I like the AAA.  I am trying to foreshdow basically, down the road the teams will become worse and worse and the AAA will really help.  Really helps now too.

I am receptive to whatever the majority wants of course.

Please vote when you join.

Perhaps some sort of compromise can be made, maybe randomize the AAA and take out the pick 'em feature?

I'll take the 2005 Houston Astros.

I also vote for random AAA instead of choose your own.
11/18/2011 1:44 PM
I'll take the 1979 Yankees for my 2nd team
