I've never seen recruiting go so slowly.

We've filled four spots in Uecker by direct sitemail and world swaps, but our classified ad has been up for two weeks without a single inquiry!  (can the ad be so poor?)

Is it safe to say the veterans are stretched about as thin as they can handle and there aren't enough new owners to fill all of the current openings?

Or should we adopt a more entertaining advertisingcampaign? Any ideas?

Naked photo's of owners wives/girlfriends is always an added bonus.

It's the end of November.  This is typically a slow period.  Nothing really unusual.

You're better off then one of my worlds, we have 9 openings and its been that way for over 2 weeks

I think the "World is falling, no worlds are filling.." point of view is overstated. Good worlds fill. And, as tec said, its a slow time of year (no baseball on to get people 'in the mood')...

Having said all of that, I def think they should market this site more and try to get more fresh blood into these games...

It's a money thing too.  That's one of several reasons I cut back on the number of teams I have (the other main reason being that 3 is about all I have time for to give the game its proper attention).

They could cut the price in half and many of us wouldn't add teams.   The simple fact of the matter is that HBD might not be a viable product due to the time committment.   If you're going to micro-manage your team(s) and have a job, you're going to have 1-2 teams.   If you're going to keep a good handle on your teams but not check every minor league line-up every day, you're going to have 3-5 teams.    Owners with 8-10 teams don't sweat their minors and/or screw up a BL team from time to time by forgetting to do something.

You mean the $2 credit isn't going to have worlds beating owners back?

you spelled 'beating owners off' wrong

If I was in charge, I'd use my connection to foxsports and foxsports radio to advertise this thru both local and national sports talk show radio hosts.  Give JT the brick, jack & zak or whatever yocal talks on your local foxsports station free teams and a mentor for a couple of season with the agreement that if they like the game, and want to stick around they can keep their team for free in exchange for occasional mentions about it on their show.  I was on this site in its infancy, but had forgotten about it.  Came back after Lance McCallister (username shotgun) talked about HD on his show several times.  HD wasn't around when this site first started, but that is what got me hooked.  Having somebody mention on their radio in a casual manner can certainly generate interest.

The 2nd thing I'd do, and I don't know how accurate it is though I'm not sure that it matters, is use the Fox NFL sunday pregame show, use any college basketball games shown nationally or locally on fox sports network and work in the WIS simulation.  I'd register WIS.com and have it redirect back to the main site, so that on Fox NFL sunday pregame show, along w/ the prediction by the panel, and on the scroll on the bottom, I'd have a WIS.com final score prediction.  If their fairly accurate, I'd pimp out its accuracy, if the simulation results are not, then I'd ignore them as best as I could, but either way I'd find a way to work it into the show to help drive traffic to the site.

I found WIS through MLB.com back back back in the day. It did take me 3 months before i knew this was a separate site though...

i found it through bill simmons...he has since stopped pimping the site

Lets cut WIS a break, at least the first banner that comes up on the homepage is for HBD... woot woot
