For say 10 games as backup SS, how big would be the difference between using

A.  a guy rated D-/D- at SS

B.  a guy rated D/A+ at 2B

C. a guy rated C/D- at 2B

For 10 games, I would guess they would have the same number of expected errors, A and C would have 1-2 minus plays, while B would have none, but no + plays either. Probably less than 1 run of expected difference, maybe less than 0.5 runs.

not all D- ratings are created equal, somtimes they are borderline playable and sometimes they are simply awful. so it's hard to evaluate A without more information. B is proably better anyway. don't know wether he's nearly equal or a a lot better. I'd take B ahead of C, he may make 1 more error and C could make several more minus plays. C looks bad.

I'd definitely take B over the other two. And just as rbow923 suggested, using C would be asking for trouble.
