1 PE for a Center - major drawback Topic

I am at D1 and have a center that is high potential in a lot of areas, but only has 1 PE and low potential there. is this a major drawback. Is PE valuable at all for a Center?

At the level youre at no its not a big deal. theres abdolutely value in having it but not at the expense of your positional cores

the 18 WE looks a little troublesome........

Yeah. I missed the opening of recruiting and didn't pay that much attention. I am hoping he will take a redshirt, the maybe he can get some decent PT, especially as a junior and senior.

My impression - only anecdotal, haven't actually gone through and looked at a ton of games to back it up - is that big men with low PE ratings are especially prone to poor shooting performances against zone defenses.

Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just me overreacting to a small sample of games?

Surprisingly, after 23 games, he has improved by 37 points. Much more than I thought. He had a lot of high potential ratings. So, maybe he will turn out to be a good player.  He is still at 18 WE because he's my 3rd string center right now, but he's got pretty good core values, and is turning into a good bench player.

He will lose some of those points during the offseason, so just a heads up. If he ends the season at 500 overall (simply for the example) don't be surprised if he returns in the 485-490 range.

still sounds like at worst a decent bench player
