Okay guys, I am offIcially hooked on progressives, and I want to run one of my own. I really got into collecting cards when I was eight years old in 1981. That's when Donruss & Fleer joined Topps in making major league baseball cards. A pack of cards cost roughly a quarter, the top and bottom card was ruined by the wax package, and you got a free stick of "gum" that could be used as a weapon.
1981 was a strike infested year, but definitely memorable. Fernandomania was in full swing and my beloved Reds finished the year with the best record in baseball, but were denied the playoffs due to the split season format.
So, in honor of the beginning of "the trading card wars", I offer you a spot in a brand new 1981 progressive.
It will be 16 teams, 4 divisions.
15 keepers.
Draft order for 1st season will be determined by random.org.
Draft will be snake style for season one.
Teams will also draft a ball park in use in 1981.
Trading is allowed including trading of draft picks one season ahead.
40 games live for playoffs and/or lottery.
35 minimum wins for three team lottery in 1982 draft.
