I would imagine this is something that has been brought up in the past and is probably not feasible but wouldn't it be nice to be able to track more then one year's worth of recruits.   It would definitely help decision making to know who will be available the following year and also might be fun to see those recruits progress throughout H.S.  Just thought I'd see if enough people agreed to potentially get momentum for this in a release down the road.

I think nearly everybody agrees that this would be VERY helpful.  I can't remember the reason why it's not done, but one has been given.  It wouldn't seem to be that hard given there's the same number of schools each season and they distribute the recruits more or less the same each year.  I'd like to see a dropdown box added where you could specify "Recruit Search Next Season" or "Recruit Search 2 Seasons" or something similar.  It would add a LOT of strategy for coaches to consider..

I would love that. Scouts really do go see sophomores and even freshmen play, so why can't we?

I'm pretty sure USC got an eighth grader to commit a few years ago, I don't think we need to go that far though.

This is a good idea; however I think the argument would be that it would put new players at a disadvantage. I'd like to get a pat on the back for being a paying customer, but my guess is WIS would rather have more new business

Actually, the kid was a 7th grader.

From Delaware.

Well, they may have also gotten a 7th grader from Delaware, but I know for a fact that PG Ryan Boatright, a current freshman at UConn, committed to USC (coached by Tim Floyd at the time iirc) when he was in the 8th grade.

One issue is how much work it would take to create this feature

Aside from that, I think there is an issue because the recruit generation system - at least used t0 - reflects the number of open slots in a given area.  creates more recruits in areas where there are more open schollies.  So, if you dont know how many schollies will be open you dont know how many recruits to create....I thiknk

If they can build a basketball simulation engine, they can build a crude calculator that can look ahead 2 years and come within reasonable margin of determining how many openings will be available in a given area.  I know EE's complicate this and the recruiting of JUCOs and such, but with all the history in the game, I'd like to think they can come up with a way to determine that number and a comfortable margin of error that would allow them to determine if Iowa will have 36 recruits in 2 seasons or 33 and so on down the line.  With all the variables from team to team, conference to conference, region to region, I'd like to think nobody would be able to tell that a given season's recruits were generated 2 seasons prior instead of 1.  We'd all adapt, no?  The strategies created from having a whole second class of kids to evaluate would be immense.

Guess I'm a dreamer.....

I agree this would be great.  AND I would not mind a few surprise ADDED recruits coming into the population if needed to adjust something.

On the other hand, I think we should know LESS about the outlying recruits.  For example, how about rounding all their data to the nearest 5 or 10?  So you have less clarity on their ability?

Should FSS cover them?  I would lean against it, but stand ready to listen to ways to make FSS work for HS juniors.

I agree mamx, less knowledge of their ratings makes sense and would seem appropriate.  In fact, I think we should probably know a tad less about the ratings of the incoming freshmen unless evals were done or FSS used something like that.  Make it a 5-point range unless you do some scouting or something like this for the current recruits.

something needs to change with recruiting. the days were programs with the most money needs to end. make recruiting a season long action. it would add a ton more stragtic value to the game. the week long recruiting cheapens the game because its all a sprint doing it that way when in real life recruiting is a marthon race.

Agree this would make the game more interesting, however this puts new players at even more of a disadvantage and I don't think WIS would do anything to stunt the growth of the game...

new coaches screw up their first classes anyway. as long as u didnt get effort interest along the way, and could theoretically do everything in the last part of recruiting as you could along the way, i don't think it would be an issue

new coaches are at a disadvantage anyway. the fact they are new coaches should not stop recruiting from changing. their disadvantage would be shorten if they could do recruiting all season long because it would give them more time to play catch up if they had 26 games during thier first season. i know i would want all the time i could have during my first season to recruit to a. learn how to recruit. b. make up the difference any coach might have over me

LETS CHANGE RECRUITING PLEASE
