I am nuts for thinking guys ranked 150-200 for their position will consider me?

I have a B prestige at D2 and couldn't get No. 186 to talk to me on the phone at 250 miles. The only time I've ever had success looking that high is when the kid lived within 10 miles. Looking at the recruiting cycle that's wrapping, the only people signing in that range (in my conference) are the A and A- prestiges.

I know of a c+ who got a 155 C 150 miles away, i believe it's easier with Centers.

With a C+ prestige I signed a 189 ranked SG (10 miles away), though a couple unranked guys I got are far superior recruits. Distance seems to play a large role in getting the highly ranked guys. The 197 ranked C gave me a backup message.

this was probably before the new engine change... the ranked #s you could talk to changed pretty dramatically

distance plays no role over 70 miles. under or at 70 miles, all teams can talk to players as if you have an a+ prestige.

This is why I love these boards -- awesome nugget of wisdom coach_billyg! I knew there was a bounce inside 70 miles. Didn't realize it was equivalent to holding an A+ prestige though.

So, does that mean an A+ gets no bonus when looking at recruits close to home?

Ranked SFs have always been a lot easier to get and Gs are generally a lot harder.

Interesting that the guy furthest away from you gave you the backup message...

I though that might be because he is JUCO player....they seem more likely to sign with DII schools.
