  • Fixed an issue related to job status changes being too harsh. This will only affect worlds going forward from this point. Already affected worlds should correct after next season. Please contact customer support if you were fired and don't believe it was fair.

This is the OPPOSITE of what is good.

I think firings don't happen enough.  Loosen up the job movement stuff, sure.  But let coaches get fired if they suck, please.

they just need to be reasonable. WIS thinks, a crappy program could take 7 or 8 seasons to get to the post season. fine. so when you take over a program, they should run a very very simple heuristic, based on prestige and some quality of players formula they have sitting around somewhere, and decide how many years you get. you take over indiana fresh off 10 straight NT appearances... you get 1 season of no NT, 2, you are fired. you take over steven f austin, fresh off of 30 straight NT misses, you get 10 seasons, 11, you are fired. is it that hard? i don't think so. i agree, firings just don't happen enough. and the excuse given just seems retarded to me.

the worst example i saw is this. we all know you get at least 6 seasons of slack, 7th, you can get fired. there was a coach at UK when i was dying to take it over, 6 straight misses, i was like horray, 1 more season! then he makes the PIT. this buys him TWO more seasons. so then he gets fired in his 10th, after season 8-10 all result in no post season.

i sent CS a ticket, and they said that PIT appearance *saved* the coaches job. really? at kentucky? last i checked, the last guy to make one PIT got fired. save his job? not in my life time.

i don't care if they program in what some might call unrealistic fan expectations. so make it looser, but not THAT much loser. by the time WIS fires coaches, a crazy fan would have lost it, went off and killed the SOB 5 years ago.

we need more firings - I should have been fired at a place or two - would make the game better but I suspect WIS thinks it would alienate players....I think games are more fun if you can lose

corn, this related to a glitch where people who were successful were erronesouly being listed as in jeopardy, and stuff like that. It didn't change the calculation from what it was before and what it was supposed to be, just fixing a glitch.

Yep, got that response to my ticket.  Still, firings need to be ramped up.

cornfused, I overall tend to agree but was frankly surprised that all of a sudden at Texas Tech I was listed as "In jeporady" and the AD message seemed to indicate NT this season or gone.  That seemed to me a bit much, given the recent record at TT...maybe you'd rather it go back to SIM coached?  This release to me seemed to confirm that there was an overreaction in the logic that has me "on my last chance" when in fact improvement has been made...granted no NT yet, but made PI 2 of past 3 seasons, and this is only the 5th season at TT.
