SP 1971 Jim Kaat
SP/RP 1971 Joe Niekro
SP/RP 1971 Don Wilson
SP/RP 1971 Jim Rooker
SP/RP 1971 Clay Kirby
SP/RP 1971 Jim Ray
SP/RP 1971 Mike Paul
SP/RP 1971 Vida Blue
SP/RP 1971 Bill Lee

This team has a very good srarting rotation led by Vida Blue's big season.  Don Wilson and Clay Kirby also have good seasons and Jim Kaat is a very good #4 starter.  Throw in Joe Niekro, Jim Rooker, and Bill Lee and you won't have any innings problems for some time.

Dick Allen, Joe Sewell, and Ralph Garr all have excellent seasons.  Hod Ford is an excellent 2B and Carlos May, Tommy Davis, Willie Horton, and Gates Brown all have nice seasons.  Ron Santo still has 3 seasons left and the '72 season is pretty good.

This team also has a lottery pick for the 1st round and will draft 1st in each sequential round.  I feel this team is good enough to contend for a playoff spot with its starting pitching alone.

Unlimited salary cap. No Waiver Wire. DH will be used in both leagues.

Major league rosters will be limited to a max of 25 players...however, players on the I.R. (no WIS status that season or seasons) do not count against this total.
Owners may choose to cut zero players or any amount of players, but your active major league roster must always be 25 players heading into each season.

Alignment will be as close as possible to MLB (during the time periods we are drafting from) according to each owner's stadium choice.

Initial draft will be randomly selected with a serpentine style. (1-24, 24-1, repeating) There will be 26 rounds, with your stadium choice coming in the round of your choosing.  Stadium choices are unique...in other words no duplications.

Rookie Drafts – The draft order will be set at the transaction deadline (120 games.) Must win 30 games by transaction deadline (game 120) to qualify for 4- team lottery. Teams failing to win 30 games by the deadline will draft behind the 4 lottery teams in order of most losses (1st round only).

Drafted players must appear on a major league roster the year they are drafted. The bottom 4 eligible teams by W-L record will go into a weighted draft lottery with the worst team getting 4 chances, 2nd worst getting 3 chances, 3rd worst getting 2 chances, and the 4th worst getting 1 chance for the #1 pick.

Stadiums – Stadium selection will be part of the initial draft. Selected stadiums must come from the initial years of the draft. Stadiums are permanent and may not be changed, except...

When an owner’s stadium is no longer in “actual use” during a season. In this case, an owner will be required to change to an unused eligible stadium.

Beginning with the 5th season draft, and every 5th season thereafter, eligible stadiums not in use by any team in the league will be made available in the draft. An extra draft pick will be assigned to every owner. The stadiums will be treated like available players. They may be drafted by any owner in lieu of a player at any scheduled time during the draft. After drafting a stadium, the owner’s original stadium will be “retired” and it, as well as any available stadium that wasn’t drafted, will become eligible for random selection when the next stadium draft is held five seasons later.

New owners taking over a franchise may choose an unused eligible stadium prior to the next season.

AAA-players may be used at any time. Each team receives a full roster (6-position players/2 pitchers) of below-average AAA-players.

Disabled list. There is no limit on the number of players on a team’s roster who are not sim eligible for a season who may be placed on the disabled list. The number of players on the disabled list have no effect or bearing on the number of minor league players allowed on a team’s roster.

Trades – Draft picks may be traded up to two seasons later than the season in which the trade is made. It takes six vetoes to nullify a trade.

What stadium do they use?  Also, there's only 24 players listed.  Was there a retiree?

The missing player is Jim Ray Hart...my apologies.  The stadium is Oakland Coliseum.  I will give you access to our private forum so you can look at our draft or whatever you want, plus post your keepers.  We have played through game 155, so the draft will probably start sometime between Christmas and New Year's.  Thanks for joining!
