No More Preseason Player Improvement Emails? Topic

I didn't get the email in my coach box that says where each guy is at high/low...makes practice planning much simpler...did they get rid of these or what?

Why do you need it?

I found it helpful sometimes to determine the cap for average potential. When a player had 20 point of improvement left for a category with average potential (according to FSS), the email designated that category as having "big potential." Granted, that was basically a glitch.

Because it tells me what every guys potential is without me having to click on every single individual player to find out...makes practice planning a one stop shop if you will...I would keep that email open side by side with my practice plan and boom...easy as pie

That's true, but that attribute would still be colored blue, wouldn't it?

Scroll down and use the color-coded attributes.  Even easier.

Ahhh, I hadn't noticed that, thank you :)

It'd be colored black in this new system because it's the highest value in the average range (7-20).

Oh, I just assumed that the player thoughts e-mail was how the post-recruiting game viewed potential, which to me meant that it would have just been transferred to over the color-coded ratings.

Yeah, it was probably supposed to work that way...but there was some kind of disconnect in the way FSS and the player thoughts email interpreted potential. I had a few players who had "average" potential according FSS, but then when I received the player thoughts email, they had "big potential". It actually happened a few times with players listed as having "low" potential according to FSS too. Then the player thoughts email omitted the category...meaning they had "average" potential.

I'm guessing there was just a one point discrepancy between the point range for each system. So not really a big deal, but definitely exciting to discover when your player has 20 points of possible improvement instead of 7. (Bryan Currie was one such player who surprised me).

Yeah, I knew about the disconnect, but I didn't know that the player thoughts e-mail was wrong and FSS was right.  I'm not explaining myself well, so I'll ask a question instead.  Are we sure that the color-coded ratings don't have the same disconnect?

I do not miss Bryan Currie...

I don't think it was necessarily the case that the player thoughts email was wrong per se. The FSS range for average potential (7-20) was just different than the range in the player thoughts email (7-19).

But, as for your question...I'm not sure. For some reason though I seem to remember reading that the color-coded ratings are directly correlated to FSS. The player thoughts email was a different system altogether. I could be wrong of course...

they could be wrong

or

it could be that the two sets of data were measured at different times

or

it could be some difference in how they handle rounding - some really minor difference

One huge difference NOW is that the colors update so that we get ongoing data
