Hey,  I used to play a bunch (almost 2 dozen teams, 3 championships) but this is my first team since WIS "sold out" to Fox, so it's very fair to say that I'm out of date.

Anyway, I need some info and some opinions.  A)  Any new tricks in the last 7 years or so? is a 1.0WHIP player from 1930 still a better player than a 1.0WHIP player from 1968?

B) I got dragged back in by a friend with a $105m single year franchise league (one year,  full franchise available.)  I've got some questions.  with one set of "normal" AAA players is it worth it to leave LF blank to fill with my best AAA guy?  Basically, I have $5m spare.  I can improve 1976 Carew to 77 Carew, I can also fill my empty 3rd OF spot with '27 Spoke, or improve my bullpen.  I have a 1100IP rotation (900ip with 0.X WHIP--WJ, Santana, 68 Chance) but only 200 quality bullpen innings.  What should I do?

With regard to the IP question, it depends on whether you go with the Metrodome or Griffith Stadium as your home park ... and that's assuming you get the Twins when the franchises are assigned (I'm in the same league I think).

I tend to avoid leaving a AAA guy to fill a full-time starter spot when the AAA is just average, but that's me.

since we got the extra $5 million today, I have been deciding how to allocate it (assuming I get my top choice of franchise)

And with regard to your very first question, no new tricks that I know of. But the prices of several cookies went up since you left.

For average or even above average AAA, you might get a bunch of crap and no one you want to start in LF. I'd rather draft a bunch of 600PA guys instead of 700PA guys and just use the AAA to fill in a bit. So no, I wouldn't leave LF totally open, but maybe you could only draft 300-400 PA there.

1300 IP is going to be tough at 105mil with AAA, unless you get lucky and get a usable AAA pitcher. I'd probably spend at least a little of the cash on another reliever (maybe 1.5-2mil)
