This guy just signed a 5 year contract worth $6.5mil/season.  I was in on him the whole time with much bigger offers and kept getting told he was receiving better offers. My last offer was 5 years/$14mil per and same thing.  I don't have a great team, but I cannot fathom a guy leaving $7.5mil/year on the table.

Is this something that happens often?

No-- there's something wrong with your offer, or a problem.  Send a ticket and see what they say.

Or did you pull your offer, and the other guy bailed as well down to that level?

As I understand it, the owner put in his offer and it was rejected...and at least two other owners (including myself) had offers in at 5 years and over $13mil/year and were rejected too. So we both pulled ours thinking the bidding was above that mark, and then Venafro went back and accepted the other guy's offer.

I understand why he accepted the low offer after the rest of us pulled our offers, but why was no one identified as the best offer?  We only pulled ours because we were led to believe he was receiving better/higher offers.  So in essence, that "agent" just screwed his guy out of another $7mil/season.

If both your offer and the other offer were identical, then neither one was "best".

I doubt they were identical.  I don't know for sure, but my per year salaries were varied and I had a bonus in there

Sounds like everyone pulled their offers at the same time, including the guy who was leading.  Maybe he realized he couldn't afford him and went a different way.  Sounds fluky, though.

He's a nice starter.  Very nice.  He's not worth $13-$14M per season. 

how come his contract is $6.5 yet it shows $13 million on his player card
