Player Development Report

It's generated at the start of the season.   The current is always correct.  The difference only shows last season/start of season difference.

Wow.  I've never even looked at this thing.  Seems kind of meaningless, seeing that it looks to be based on overall rating.

It's useful as a general guideline.   If a guy improved by 8 points between seasons, it's worth taking a look at him to see if he's done something that might make him worthwhile(assuming he's not already earmarked as such).    0 ADV owners, like myself, use it as a safeguard to make sure no one slips thru the cracks.

I think its a good measurement of when a player is maturing and is no longer increasing in ratings. Some people say that by 5 years pro players no longer advance (regardless of age), I am trying to get a handle on this and make sure the player is at right level to maximize their potential...any thoughts?

If a guy is a 4th year player and not on your 40, he's either not worth keeping or you won't have him anyway after the Rule 5 draft.  That's a better way.
