If you are the underdog, but still have a shot (let's say a 7-12 point dog) do you mix up your gameplan to go for the upset, or do you stay with what got you there in the first place?
I'm looking at a matchup where given the normal starting line-ups I feel favor my opponent slightly at every position, but I have a bit more depth (less talent overall, but better IQ). We each have basically a key player, and I am thinking if I put my key player on his key player I may be able to shut his down--in this case the switch would favor my guy, but the position my relocated guy vacated would have to be filled with a kid off the bench.
Now, looking at the kid off the bench, he would have better IQ than the opponents Fr player, but the opponents Fr player would have advantages (~ 5 points) in key ratings areas of Ath, Spd, and De.
Since my opponent is not running offense through those Fr, I think I may be able to pull the upset doing this and gambling his Fr can't step up. But it is a gamble. Both teams play man defense.
So my major question is: Do you alter line-ups to create mis-matches, or just continue with what has been successful all season and hope the SIM engine smiles upon you this game?
