6 athlete limit? Topic

I coach for Montana in the Smith world, and one of our SIM teams is Idaho St. They just signed 8 FR in the current recruiting cycle. If you can't do it as a human, why is it allowed as a SIM? Who will ever want to move up from DII and take over that program when they see they will have to recruit 8 players one year?
Sorry if this topic has been brought up before, I checked the forums briefly and didn't see anything in here.

First, I agree with you that it does not seem right that the SIM is allowed to recruit more than 6 players per class. However, I am not sure I would totally agree with you that being able to recruit 8 players (even if you only get cash for 6) would be a detractor for everyone. It will help you get your guys in there faster.

We have a team in my conference in Iba with all twelve scholarships. It was taken. Many would love to have that sort of challenge, because balancing the classes adds a whole new element to the recruiting strategy.

SIM recruiting generally is a lot worse than human recruiting, but SIMs can be good when they end up with lots of seniors and juniors

When a human takes over a school with 8 or 8 or 12 openings it is both a challenge and an opportunity,  Some folks like it.  There are always plenty of job openings with many and with few slots in the coming season
