Houston (8 seed), Wyoming (8 seed), and Temple (5 seed) are the only non-power conference teams to make the 2nd round. ACC has 6 (6-2 first round), Big 12 has 4 (4-4), Big East has 5 (5-0), Big 10 has 4 (4-2), PAC 10 has 4 (4-1) and the SEC has 6 (6-0). This means power conferences were 29-9 in the first round. Out of the 37 at-large bids, 32 went to power conference teams. 4 out of five of those conferences had teams get in because they pulled an upset in the NT. Only the MWC had 2 NT worthy teams, all other non-power conferences had 1 or 0. To me, this looks pretty bad, and I'm in a power conference. I really wish it were easier for mid-majors to compete, but unless we get changes this will be the way of the NT.
