Depth Chart Help...... Topic

First of all, I know that my team has some serious deficiencies in the passing and ball handling departments, so I want to know how I should arrange my depth chart based on what I do have, not hear about what I need.......

This is my SUNY IT team.

Right now, I have the following:

PG: Moore, Kleinman, Woodruff, Eubanks

SG: Woodruff, Kleinman, Moore, Hedgepeth

SF: Stewart, Lore, Eubanks, Hedgepeth

PF: Laflamme, Janis, Hood, Haislip

C: Haislip, Hood, Janis, Laflamme

I would switch it depending on the opponent.  Assuming he has any potential to improve, I would be inclined to start Lore at the 3 as often as possible.  Woodruff is your best player, but he can't be relied upon to score.  The more time that Lore and Woodruff spend on the court the better.

Woodruff would start at either 1, 2 or 3; Lore at 3 and 2 (against slow SGs); Stewart at 2, 3 & 4; Laflamme at 4 & 5; Kleinman at 2 & 1, but Moore only at 1 and Haislip only at 5.  The more unpredictable your starting lineups the better.  I'd just spend all my time getting the best defender against the opponents best scorer.

lore still has high potential in speed, LP, and PE, along with average in most other categories... haven't been able to give him much PT in his first two years

and i realized, like you said, that i think i'm best off changing it on a game-by-game basis

Yup.  Unless Stewart has big time potential in Ath & Def, Lore would be in the starting lineup for every game.   You'll desperately need Lore to be maxed out next season.  For me, any time you're playing man defense, that defense rating is the most important, followed by Ath.   Although, recently, I've realized it's helpful if someone on the court can hit a trey and someone else play the post; that's still secondary for me.

Some points ...

1.  I never put the guy who is #1 at a position in any other slots in the depth chart.  Others may do so.

Here is how I would use your current team:

PG - Woodruff, Moore, Eubanks, Lore
SG - Kleinman, Moore, Lore, Eubanks
SF - Stewart, Moore, Lore, Janis
PF - Laflamme, Janis, Hood, Hinkle
C - Haislip, Janis, Hood, Hinkle

I would switch Woodruff as a shutdown defender since you play man to man ... I would shift him with Kleinman (in the 1 and 2 positions) if the other team has a really good offensive guard.

I would also use Getting Tired for Woodruff, Klienman, Moore, Stewart, Laflamme, Haislip, Janis and Fairly Fresh for the rest.

stewart is still high in ath and is average in defense, but i'm pretty sure he was high before the season rollover, so he could max out in the high-fifties or sixty
