Has anyone ever used him at 2B? He has a D/B rating there in 2 games, just wondering how he might do there.

Its a theme league. The other guy I am looking at is A-/B- at 2B and costs more and not near the hitter available to play OF.

D is a pretty bad fielding rating for a 2B, but will you at least have a lot of modern pitchers? If so I might give it a try.

Okay, it does....the above team is "how to do it".   It's only 11 games or so (it's a TOC team) but you'll see the FLD% of all the old time players  a  little higher than their RL.  

I find it is easier to see how the old time fielders are affected by the modern pitchers than the other way around.  

Modern pitchers won't have an effect on modern fielders.

I'm not sure how much modern pitchers help modern fielders. But I find the 2000s pitchers and 1880s hitters to be a pretty effective combo

I have a D+/D guy in a progressive with only 6 errors in 51 games at 2B. I dont think that is that bad.

  My only other real choices are a guy with A-/B- with 700+ PA who hit about 290 0 homers 340 ish obp or some C fielder mediocre hitters. If I play Raines there, I can have a nice 300 hitter with 25 homers and decent glove in the OF instead.

No I can't get a better 2b, it is only guys that played with Gary carter no twisting.

You might be able to manipulate a Backman/Teufel platoon (the 87 Teufell is good) but their defense will be even worse.

If you have other OF's I would say screw it and play Raines at 2b.

I wouldn't even ask this question in the forums.  Raines at 2B for sure...  I know I'm a little late to the conversation, but this one seems obvious to me.
