elite d2 opening coming up - d2 tark Topic

Hi guys -
Its that time again (must be the 30th time I made this post). There is a school opening up in the mighty GLV of d2 tark, when the season ends in a week or so. Dugnix is moving on from NKU, which is a perfect spot for a coach to come, because, well, its in the GLV :) Actually its a pretty good school too, hes done a solid job recruiting some decently talented players, so its not a major rebuild. Right now its a C- prestige school, but with 4 seniors, it has a 624 overall rating. So yeah, you can definitely work with it!

But really, the reason to come is to play in one of the most enjoyable and most competitive conferences of all time. The GLV of d2 tark has been the best d2 conference in all of HD for probably over 3 years now. And by the dynasty rankings I ran for conferences a while back, it is most definitely one of just a few conferences in the discussion for greatest conference dynasty ever - I think if you weigh length of greatness heavily, the GLV takes the cake, but i could be a little biased ;)

This season, the GLV looks to send 11 teams to the NT, after 9 last season, so we are still rocking it. We've won 15 of the last 32 national championships, and have had tons of seasons like 3 final four teams, both teams in the title game, or 3 1 seeds, or the top 3 teams by rpi, etc... the conference has long been the best in d2, for its greatness at the top. But where we've really come on strong this last year and a half is the depth of the conference. We used to only send 5-6 teams to the NT. Another interesting stat - at one point, when I was recruiting very heavily to fill the conference, we were actually up to TEN coaches with multiple national championships, just in our little 12 man conference! I think we are down to 7 now, but we are still strong as ever.

We also feature a super active CC with a bunch of really great guys. From friendly banter to conversations about our teams to the finer points of HD, you will find it all on our CC, in great quantities.

So, if you are a veteran coach looking for a place to come prove he can compete with the best - or if you are a hot young coach looking to perfect his craft by playing top competition day in and day out - or if you are just someone who is looking to finally find a conference where you can really have a good time just interacting with the other coaches - then the GLV is the spot for you!

Hope to see you soon --
coach_billyg (and the rest of the GLV!)

P.S.
we also have a fantastic rivalry running with the MIAA, who is almost definitely a top 5 d2 conference in HD right now. they've won 7 of the last 19 national championships - which means between us, we have like 22 of the last 32. they haven't been around as long as the GLV, and we usually edge them out by about .02 on the conference rpi chart, but it really adds another dimension to the fun and excitement of being in our conference. we are close geographically - which definitely impacts our two conferences - i struggle to imagine how strong these two conferences would be without such a crazy strong rival right next door! it is truly a fantastic competition, and one of the great rivalries in all of HD!

It really is the best conference ever. It is only my second season in the conference but i inherited a pretty bad team and I'm already on the border of the NT! The best coaches in the country should apply to this amazing conference. As horrible as it will be to see Duggy go I hope to see one of you soon. GO GLV

Hell yeah! Always nice to see an old GLVer return :) Quite a few do, actually, Brian and Montana right now are back for round 2 - montana just won the NT last year and Brian is looking at the #1 overall seed right now. They both just got back in the last few seasons - so I guess it's a good time for second chances :)

Mpollen is gone now, dropped to one team, but he won two titles in a row his second time around. Just left to cut back to one total team, but he might come back some day, too.

That is a great conference. If the team had higher prestige I would probably take it, as I currently am not looking for an extensive rebuild.

Unless I win the NT at Emory this year, I think I will apply. I grew up in Cincinnati, so the location would interest me, plus it sounds like a great conference.

I think I will stay at Emory. We made the Final 4, and I want to win a title there. Sounds like a great conference though. If anyone is just starting in Tarkanian, please join the University Conference in Division 3. It is also a great conference.

Yeah so we pulled off 11 nt teams this year. We honestly blve that we can improve on that next year. All people interested in joining the best conf with the best coaches in terms of skill and advice should definitely apply.
