Now entering its 20th Season, the 54/84 Progressive wishes to expand back to 24 teams. A few years ago we contracted to 20 teams, but members now wish to reexpand.
Two owners have agreed to take one of the expansion teams for one season, so we are looking for 2-3 owners interested in taking on an expansion franchise for the 1955/1985 Season.
There will be an expansion pool of 200 players, with an expansion draft. Expansion teams are encouraged to draft at least 10 players, but can take more. Any current team can lose at most 4 players (with 15 players on a protected list). The expansion draft will be followed by a regular draft. The four expansion franchises will draft in the first four slots (order determined by www.random.com), then follow a snake style for the first four slots in subsequent rounds.
This will then be a 24 team league with 6 divisions of 4 teams each. There is a DH in each league, no waiver wire, and trades are encouraged. We also have a 2 day 4 player AAA round, in which we can draft AAA players. Any of the 25 MLB squad or 4 AAA players can be among the keepers (max 25) for the following season. The members are all WIS veterans, and its a fun competitive league. I've been commish now for about 8 seasons.
