Pitching appearance fatigue question Topic

I'm building a 100 m team and the best chance I have to make a decent pitching staff is to use six pitchers that each have a high number of innings pitched.  I'm considering a 3 man rotation of :

1) Pete Alexander '19- 272 IP
2) Babe Adams '19- 307 IP
3) Hippo Vaughn 19' 355 IP

My three relievers would be

1) Phil Douglas 19' 188 IP
2) Jimmy Ring 19' -212 IP
3) Art Nehf 19' - 119 IP

SP 1919 Pete Alexander R 16-11-1 272 1.72 .211 0.93 4.63 1.46 0.11 121-38 $9,560,842
SP/RP 1919 Babe Adams R 17-10-1 307 1.98 .220 0.90 3.14 0.79 0.03 92-23 $11,925,673
SP/RP 1919 Art Nehf L 9-2-0 119 1.50 .196 0.87 2.12 1.68 0.18 24-19 $3,880,829
SP/RP 1919 Jimmy Ring R 10-9-3 212 2.26 .232 1.10 3.00 2.51 0.05 61-51 $6,077,840
SP/RP 1919 Phil Douglas R 10-6-0 188 2.00 .230 1.03 3.51 1.89 0.00 63-34 $6,395,377
SP/RP 1919 Hippo Vaughn L 21-14-1 355 1.79 .234 1.06 4.14 1.82 0.09 141-62 $10,554,968

Naturally, I'm worried that my downfall could be appearance fatigue, but I'm not sure how to gauge that.

Is my best bet to keep my three man rotatation as is and set each reliever to Long A?

Would I be better off creating tandems by assigning one reliever to a starter so I can guarantee that each pitcher will be used a maximum of once every three days?

Can someone suggest a setting or arrangement that minimizes appearance fatigue for a staff like this?  How do I make this work?

Thanks!

Couple thoughts:

1.  Ring is not a good choice for a 100 cap league.   If he is your best guy left sobeit but I would keep looking,
2. Appearance fatigue doesn't kick in until game 100 or so.   I wouldn't worry about it.   You might see some "tired from recent game activity" for the low ip/162 guys but it will be minor.
3.  I would put them all as starters (1-6) and set the "pitch in relief" box.
or
3a.  Make Nehf Closer A, available in the 7th and the rest to starter.  (You probably won't maximize his innings this way but they'll be the "right" innings)

Just my two cents, Good Luck!

Thank you for the advice.  I'll reconsider Ring.  I could make some changes to replace him with:
SP/RP 1925 Dazzy Vance R 22-9-0 281 3.53 .250 1.18 7.50 2.24 0.27 221-66 $8,597,496

once you set a rotation you're not stuck with it all season. I like the 3 and a half man rotation, moving the 4th guy in and out of the rotation as needed to manage fatigue. or since your starters have different IP you could use the rolling 3-man roation, when a SP is getting tired replace that one pitcher for a round.

one problem with small pitching staffs is fatigue when appearing in back-to-back games. the fewer pitchers you have the more annoying this problem is.
your tandem idea might work in a DH league, otherwise its not compatible with pinch-hitting strategy.

In a progressive league, I'm using the 1929 Jesse Petty (196 IP In real life) as my primary Setup A. 38 games into the season, he's pitched in 23 games for 39 IP and is sitting at 100%. He's pitched in back-to-back games 6 times already and 3 straight games twice. It's not the biggest sample size, but may give you some idea of how it will work.

He won't be fatigued until either:

1. He has appeared in more than x% of your team games  ( I think "x" equals 110/162)

or

2. He is over his projected PC.  The "tired from recent game activity" is when they are between 100% and 110% of their projected PC.
