Why did Team B have a prestige drop after a Sweet 16 and how does Team A have a higher prestige than B?

Team B likely dropped because of RPIs of 31 and 20 the past two years.  Need better than that to keep an A+.

Team A likely moved up to A+ because of an E8 and RPI of 4 in the most recent season.

In the end, Team A is a low A+ and Team B is a high A

Doesn't really look like B should have been A+ last season anyway.  RPI seems to make a big difference, you might not be looking at that.  Last season A was RPI=4 and B was RPI=31.  That's a huge difference and the main reason A went up and B went down, imo.

remember that in D2 & D3 prestige is not a four year rolling average like D1.

It basically looks at the current Prestige and weighs it against the current season to arrive at a new prestige.

In D2 and D3 your last season has an enormous impact on your prestige.

I didn't realize there was a distinction between the divisions like that.  Although it seems like the methods could be very similar, depending on how WIS does the formulas.  It's probably just a weighted average either way, and the current prestige would be based much more on recent seasons than the very old ones.  Maybe not much different from just using the last 4.
