I am in a dilemma and would like some feedbacks. I have the following team:

Dennis Seaborn Jr. C 83 24 96 86 94 86 34 23 31 40 61 24 B- 682

I recruited 3 bigs this season to get some frontcourt depth. My question is, can I safely redshirt one of my 3 incoming bigs and play a 4 man deep front court? The 2 FR I want to play have stamina of 70 and 74. With Seaborn at 61 stamina, I have a feeling I can't redshirt any of my incoming FR. Any thoughts and comment would be appreciated.

I'd risk it if the new guy needs the RS.  It might hurt you once or twice with foul trouble or multiple OTs, but frankly it's not a deep tournament run team (which I'm sure you know), so there's not really anywhere except the CT where 1 game is make or break.  Small enough sample there that it's not a huge risk...

Can the frontcourt survive with just 4 players? We run flex/m2m.

I would do it. I think you can survive with 4 guys in the frontcourt, and a guy with 55 STA wouldn't be of much help until at least the second half of the season anyway. Plus, I personally don't like having 3 big men in the same graduating class, and this seems like the best way to even that out.

I would redshirt Kurz.  You can always take if off later if you believe he'll make the difference between a PIT or NT berth and being out altogether.  I'm running 3 freshman and a sophomore in my front court at UNCW; none of whom knew my O and only one my D.  [If anyone has any hints on how to encourage this Junior PF to make good on his threats to transfer, I'm all ears!]   I had to run target minutes, rather than fatigue settings, but that has somewhat more to do with all those promises I made.  You'll be in much better shape starting Seaborn & Earls.  Although, Seaborn's stamina may limit him.

I feel like you already know the answer tianyi.  Sure you CAN do it, and it probably won't make much difference at all in the vast majority of games.  But we've all had those games where you draw the foul card, and 2 early fouls on one of your bigs tends to spiral into a loss when you're playing with only 4.  If the value you get from RSing is enough to make that risk worthwhile, then go for it.  I definitely wouldn't do it in Press, but in Man you'll probably be ok.

Your point is spot on. I'm borderline NT and I'm afraid that redshirting Kurz would make me lose 1 or 2 more games, knocking me out of the NT contention. I have left Kurz off of the depth chart in exhibition to see how things turn out, but I don't think it's going to give me much information.
