20 games or 20 days Topic

When calling guys up from the minors to avoid losing a year...and do you call them up after 20 game/days have passed or 21?

Minor league assignments of less than 20 days are counted towards major league service.  So it's days after the minor league season has started.

So 20 days after the minor league season has played...so when one team in your aaa league has played 20 days? Or does it have to be your own team?

I've always assumed my own team.

My rule of thumb . . . if your minor league season starts on the Wednesday AM cycle, do your promotions after the following Wednesday AM cycle.  Takes the counting of days out of the equation.

I always wait the extra cycle as well, this year Im really up against it though with a few extra inning games lately. Gonna have to throw a few pitchers to the wolves to rest the pen.

Everytime this question comes up, I know tec is coming with this answer.  Very easy to remember.

Or simply remember the 8th a.m. cycle of the reg. season, same thing. The number 8 might be too hard for some to remember, so just keep in mind that eight comes after seven.
